Well, it could be worse. It could be green.

The other day I was at Big Lots (a closeout store) and they had some boxes of Colorsilk hair color for $2. Now, I did think- there must be a reason why this stuff is here- but came to the conclusion that the product must be fine, either the colors were discontinued or they changed the box design. The color I chose was “Light Reddish Brown” the exact same color description of the Natural Instincts dye I have used in the past and been very happy with. The 6-week Natural Instincts won’t cover my grey hairs, though, so I thought it was time to move on to a permanant dye- and this Colorsilk seemed like the perfect thing.

However, the results were not as expected.

Before: slightly brassy for washed out Natural Instincts, ‘natural’ light reddish brown…

After: not lighter or redder! I guess they got the brown part right…

It looks nothing like the picture on the box, I took a picture holding it for comparison but it came out super blurry. I don’t think this is due to any error in my part… it’s been about 3 months since I last colored my hair, and I followed the package instructions to a T. I guess this is my payback for never doing the strand test.

It does, however, appear to have covered my grey hairs!

I just had to blog about this because.. there are no good search results for it and I think people need to know about this.

Today I was reading my friend Jawn’s Blog and saw a photo he had taken of a sign advertising “MEAT BINGO” at a VFW Hall- with an “Immediately Following Fish Fry” I had to know more.

Apparently it is exactly what it sounds like- bingo, with meat for prizes.

I sure hate it when my apples get bruised from kicking around in my bag all day. Luckily some bright crafty gal made some handknit Apple Cozys and put them on Etsy. Sadly the red one is already sold. I’m currently debating over teal or purple. Possibly I could make my own, but knitting is kinda a pain in the ass.

Livenirvana.com’s new forum signature rules are LAME. Avatars, images and such have always been banned from the board, and now users are limited to a one line, 100 character, default text size only signature. All these rules make it difficult to create a new signature that will be accepted.

I was thinking it would be a cute way to protest if everyone put a one-liner joke in their sig. Here’s a bunch of Mitch Hedberg jokes to get started with. And here’s a character counter so you can see if the one you like will be accepted.
